2008

It's already the middle of January. I have a month and a half left of work in Korea and am in a bit of a panic. I went to Seoul for New Years and spent four days touring more of the city that I haven't seen yet. I saw Lotte World (a big mall with a theme park, skating rink, shooting range, bowling alley, etc inside), Insadong, and went to a fish market. At the market we pointed to a fish and then went into a restaurant and they brought us the fish sashimi-style to eat with the traditional korean lettuce and bean paste. Not my fav dish in the world but I tried it. I rang in 2008 at a Canadian bar called Rocky Mountain where they serve rye and coke (an anomaly in Korea) or whisky by the glass as well as lots of beer (mostly Korean beer though).

I am now trying to plan for the next year of my life. Always a daunting task I find. There is a publishing course in Toronto that I want to take but will not have enough money for it when I return to Canada. I also can't really write the required entry essay for here (not to mention the fact that I'm lazy) so I think I'm gonna put off the course for a year and just go home and readjust and work off some more debt.

Right now, I'm planning a two-month long trip that starts in March when I finish my contract. I plan to spend a month in India and then travel the South Pacific (maybe Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore....not really sure about these details yet). India is very expensive to fly to and I've spent all the money I saved paying off credit card debt so I'm in a bit of a panic that I won't have enough money but it should work out ok! Here's hoping, at least. Any tips on travel to this part of the world would be much appreciated!

I can't post any pictures right now because my computer cord is broken but I will update when I can!
