Hong Kong Diaries...

I am writing this from the Business Class lounge at South Korea's Incheon Airport. I paid an insane amount of money for a flight to Hong Kong for Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving)and business class on Thai Airlines was actually cheaper than economy on some other carriers. The bus ride here was less than four hours long but should have taken closer to five if the driver wasn't such a lead foot. Life Status: still alive. Hurricane Wipha has been hitting Asia and is supposed to be heading north to North Korea after rocking Shanghai so we could potentially be flying through some nasty weather. However, most people seem to think that the worst part of the storm is over.

The bar in the business class lounge is not open, sadly. However, I am completely sated after annihilating a foot-long Subway sub. You know you've been in Korea too long when you get SO excited over shitty fast food from back home. But good sandwiches that aren't bastardized by excess mayo or weird toppings are extremely hard to come by.

Anyhoo, I'm off to Hong Kong in about an hour. Hopefully it won't be too early for me to take advantage of the free alcohol on the flight (It's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?!). I will be posting pics soon as well as some of Gwangju, my kids, and also Gyeongju (the old seat of the Silla Dynasty in Korea---more on that later). For now kids: same bat time, same bat channel. Anyong haseyo.
